Garrett Peterson Commits to Notre Dame

The Fighting Irish received a verbal commitment from Team Illinois Major Midget forward Garrett Peterson for the 2010 season. Last year in the MWEHL Major Midget division, he had 8 goals and 12 assists in 25 games. At the Select 17's he had a goal and an assist in five games. He also had 34 penalty minutes. He will join Team USA at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament that runs from August 12th to August 16th in Breclav, Czech Republic, and Piestany, Slovakia.

Notre Dame has a pipeline in Illinois. They also got a commitment from T.J. Tynan a forward in February also of the Chicago Mission program for either the 2010 or 2011 season. He played on the Under 16 team where he had 9 goals and 16 assists in 30 games. He will play for the National Team Development Progam Under 17 team.At the Select 16's he had a goal and two assists in five games. They also got a commitment from defenseman Robbie Russo this past April for the Fall of 2011. With the U16 Team he had 2 goals and five assists in 31 contests. He should be at the Select 15's next month.

As I mentioned earlier this week, Chris McCarthy will join Boston College for the 2010 season. He played at Berkshire last season, his stats are very difficult to find. He had five goals and 10 points at the Select 17's two weeks ago. He will also join Team USA at the Memorial of Ivan Hlinka Tournament.
