More Roster Changes

The QMJHL has announced more roster changes for the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.

BOUCHERVILLE, Saturday, November 15, 2008 – Four new players have been added to Team QMJHL’s roster for the 2008 ADT Canada-Russia Challenge due to injuries sustained by forwards Jordan Caron and Philippe Cornet of the Rimouski Océanic in their battle against the Victoriaville Tigres yesterday. Forwards Michael Stinziani (Cape Breton), Nicholas Petersen (Shawinigan), Mike Hoffman (Drummondville) and Maxime Macenauer (Rouyn-Noranda) are expected to make the trip to either Cape Breton or Saint John.

Michael Stinziani and Nicholas Petersen will be in uniform for the first game of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge on Monday at the Centre 200 in Cape Breton while Mike Hoffman and Maxime Macenauer will head to Saint John to take part in the second game on Wednesday at Harbour Station.

Of note, the event plays a crucial role in the selection process of Canada's next World Junior Hockey Championship team.
With so many changes, why don't they just announce the rosters a week before the event. I know no one can predict injuries but it seems half the roster has changed.

Quick Hits with Matt Eagles.

The London Knights look like they have lost Nazem Kadri until the Christmas Break with a broken jaw. He had to have surgery to correct the jaw. The injury was suffered in the 6-5 shootout victory over the Barrie Colts.

The London Knights defeated the Plymouth Whalers 6-2. Akim Aliu had two goals in the victory.

Speaking of shootouts, the Windsor Spitfires and the Saginaw Spirt went 14 rounds. Spitfires defenseman Ron Soucie to get the game winner to give Windsor 4-3. I wander if he went Marek Malik style?
