Toronto, Ontario – The Canadian Hockey League today announced the CHL Mosaik MasterCard Top 10 Rankings for this week. The weekly rankings of the Canadian Hockey League’s Top 10 are selected by a panel of National Hockey League scouts.

Boston Player of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Dana Tyrell of the Prince George Cougars is the Boston Pizza CHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 2. Tyrell scored three goals and four assists for seven points helping the Cougars to a 1-0-0-1 record on the week.

Tyrell was named the first star of the game on Wednesday night playing the Brandon Wheat Kings at home. He netted two goals on the power play and added an assist in the 6-5 shootout loss. On Saturday Tyrell would score one goal and three assists for third star of the game honours as the Cougars would beat the Kamloops Blazers 7-2 at home.

Tyrell, a 19-year-old from Airdrie, AB is in his fourth WHL season with the Cougars. In 16 games this season he has scored 14 goals and nine assists for 23 points. Tyrell was a second round selection of the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. He will be representing Team WHL in the 2008 ADT Canada Russia Challenge November 26 in Swift Current and November 27 in Prince Albert.

Philippe Paradis of the Shawinigan Cataractes was the QMJHL nominee for the award with seven assists to help the Cataractes win four games this week. Defenceman Ryan Ellis of the top ranked Windsor Spitfires scored two goals and five assists for seven points in two games and was the OHL nominee for the award this week.

ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week

Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Mike Murphy of the Belleville Bulls is the ADT CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 2. Murphy posted a 1.33 goals-against-average and a .962 save percentage compiling a 3-0-0-0 record this week for the Bulls.

On Wednesday night Murphy would make 35 saves at home in a 5-1 win over the Peterborough Petes and was named the third star of the game. Murphy would again allow just one goal in the game at home Saturday night making 29 saves to beat the Owen Sound Attack 4-1. His week would conclude Sunday with a 37 save performance to beat the host team Mississauga St. Michael’s Majors 3-2.

Murphy, a 19-year-old from Inverary, ON currently leads all OHL goaltenders with a league best goals-against-average of 2.12 and save percentage of .938 in 14 games played. Last season Murphy was named the OHL Goaltender of the Year. Murphy will backstop Team OHL on November 24 in St. Catharines in the 2008 ADT Canada Russia Challenge.

P.E.I. Rocket goaltender Bobby Nadeau posted a 1.95 goals-against-average and a .949 save percentage helping the Rocket to a 2-0-0-1 record this week representing the QMJHL nominee. In the WHL, Mark Guggenberger of the Swift Current Broncos went 2-0-0-0 this week with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .966.
