Palmieri to Belleville

The Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League announced today that they have traded Nick Palmieri to the Belleville Bulls in exchange for two picks in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection.

The Otters will receive a third- and seventh-round pick for the veteran forward.

Palmieri, taken 30th overall by the Otters in the 2005 OHL Priority Selection, had seven goals and five assists for 12 points in 18 games this season.

The 19 year-old, who was selected 79th overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, played 192 games for the Otters registering 72 goals (tied for the sixth most in franchise history) and 54 assists for 126 points.

The Otters (11-10-1-0) return to action tonight (Friday) when they travel to Kitchener to face the Rangers in a 7:30 p.m. start. The game can be heard live on FOX Sports Radio AM 1330 The FAN and on-line at www.ottershockey.com (presented by the James H. Cross Company) beginning with the pre-game show at 7:15 p.m.

The next Otters home game takes place tomorrow (Saturday) when the London Knights visit the Tullio Arena in a 7 p.m. start. The first 2,000 into the game receive a free cheesy roll coupon courtesy of Taco Bell.
