Ritter Joins Montreal

According to the Fighting New Foundlander, the Montreal Juniors have signed their import selection Toni Ritter.

The Montreal Juniors announced today that Toni Ritter, an 18 year old forward from Germany, will play his first game with the Juniors on Friday, November 14th when the the team will face the P.E.I. Rocket.

Ritter, from Bad Muskau, Germany, is a 6-3 left shooting right-winger who tips the scales at 198 lbs.

In 18 games with the Heilbronn Falcons of the German Bundesliga, Toni registered 2 goals, 3 assists for 5 points, and picked up 8 minutes in penalties.

Toni's strong play in the Bundesliga, accompanied by steady performances for both the U20 and U18 teams saw him earn a 3rd place ranking amongst his countrymen.

He was apart Team Germany at the World Junior A Challenge where he had three goals and an assist in four contests. He was passed over in the 2008 Draft.

This signing adds another impact forward for the Junior. Nick Layton has 27 points including nine goals. Luke Adam had ten goals and nine assists. Angelo Esposito has seven goals and eight assists.

The Juniors are in second in the Telus West. Ritter has one assist in two games this weekend. He was the 20th overall selection in the 2008 Import Draft. The Juniors had the 11 overall selection also and selected Dmitri Kostromitin. He has a goal and four assists in 10 contests.
