OJHL Players of the Month

MACKINNON DIVISION - DANIEL KOUDYS, BURLINGTON COUGARS

The OJHL MacKinnon Division Player of the Month for January is DANIEL KOUDYS from the Burlington Cougars. Daniel, who is the team captain, led the Cougars to a record of 6 wins and 2 losses for the month of January. In 8 games Koudys led Burlington with 16 points on 10 goals and 6 assists. The Grimsby, ON native and OJHL All-Star recently accepted a Division I scholarship to Bentley College. Off the ice, Daniel volunteers in the local community helping run a program called "Skills and Drills" for minor hockey players. Congratulations Daniel!

PHILLIPS DIVISION - JON WHITELAW, HUNTSVILLE MUSKOKA OTTERS

The OJHL Phillips Division Player of the Month for January is JON WHITELAW from the Huntsville Muskoka Otters. In 13 games, Whitelaw collected 14 goals and 12 assists for 26 points. The Barrie, ON native recently broke the Otters record for most career points and most points in the regular season by an Otter. Off the ice, Jon is an assistant coach with the Huntsville Otters Minor Midget rep team who won the International Silver Stick Championships this year. Congratulations Jon!

RUDDOCK DIVISION - IAN WATTERS, AJAX ATTACK

The OJHL Ruddock Division Player of the Month for January is IAN WATTERS from the Ajax Attack. For the month, Watters collected 19 points in 9 games leading the Attack to 5 wins and 4 losses. The OJHL rookie leader in points has committed to Division I Mercyhurst for the 2010 season. Ian's strong leadership on and off the ice and his hard working attitude has led Ajax to make him an assistant captain in his rookie campaign. Congratulations Ian!

CENTRAL DIVISION - CODY SMITH, TORONTO JR. CANADIENS

The OJHL Central Division Player of the Month for December is Cody Smith from the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. For the month, Smith played 10 games scoring 9 goals and adding 6 assists to lead the Canadiens to 8 wins and 2 losses to climb past a number of teams in the division. The Toronto, ON native shows enthusiasm and excitement for the game and respect for the opposition and provides leadership on and off the ice. Congratulations Cody!
