ISS Players of the Week

Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW) / International Scouting Services (ISS) 2009 Draft Prospect Performers of the Week presented by the Pipeline Show & Hockey Now ending Sunday, March 22, 2009.

Each week, International Scouting Services (ISS), Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW), Hockey Now, and The Pipeline Show recognize the Top Draft Eligible player from each of the WHL, OHL, QMJHL, & USHL leagues for the upcoming 2009 NHL Entry Draft based on their play over the course of the week. Players are nominated and the selected by graduates of the SMWW Hockey GM & Scouting with each of the winners receiving a gift acknowledging their selection.


ONTARIO HOCKEY LEAGUE – OHL

Ontario Hockey League – Nazem Kadri, London Knights

Nazem Kadri is the first playoff performer nominated from the Ontario Hockey League after posting 4 goals and 3 assists along with a plus-5 rating in 2 games, both wins for the Knights. Kadri, a London native asserted himself well through the regular season and has continued in the playoffs with strong play at both ends of the ice.

WESTERN HOCKEY LEAGUE – WHL

Western Hockey League – Tyler Maxwell, Everett Silvertips
Tyler Maxwell earns his first award after scoring 4 goals in 2 games for Everett, who currently sit tied in their series with Tri City at a game apiece. Maxwell, a native of Manhattan Beach, CA, the leading goal scorer in the playoffs to this point, has had a solid rookie season in the WHL and has been a consistent contributor throughout the year.

QUEBEC MAJOR JUNIOR HOCKEY LEAGUE – QMJHL

Quebec Major Junior Hockey League – Olivier Roy, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles

Olivier Roy is the QMJHL nominee after winning the first two playoff games against the Saint John Sea Dogs, including Game 1 in overtime. Roy is in his second season with Cape Breton and is known for his quickness, agility and resilience after a bad goal or prior game.

United States Hockey League – Alex Chiasson, Des Moines Buccaneers

Alex Chiasson takes the USHL nomination after scoring 2 goals and adding 2 assists in 3 games for Des Moines this week. Chiasson, a native of Lorraine, PQ is amongst the highest rated USHL Forwards for the upcoming June draft. Chiasson is able to utilize his size and strength to be an extremely valuable player.
