Pickard goes down

Last week the Spokane Chiefs and the Tri-City Americans got together and Chet Pickard was taken down.

I think it was a cheap shot by Ryan Letts. Pickard has suffered a concussion. I think ten games is pretty reasonable for the suspension that Letts got.

Both teams also got fines. Corey Baldwin and Hardy Sauter also received a one game suspension.

My only question is why was Dustin Tokarski wanting to fight? Did he really think Pickard was going to get up? Imagine the two Canada World Junior goaltenders dropping the gloves at center ice.

That's My Take

Uhm, I highly doubt Tokarski was wanting to fight Pickard. He was skating around eying the situation as he would do another other time there is a delay and the whistle is blown. He is fidgety. His feistiness didn't come out until after this closer to the end of the third when he was trying to find any partner on the Ams bench to fight.

It's too bad the Tri-City D-man did not protect his goalie ... dumb move by Letts for sure, definitely impacts Tri's playoff picture.
