Foreurs on the clock

Press Release

MONTREAL, Thursday, April 2, 2009 – The official draw for the first overall pick in the next Quebec Major Junior Hockey League entry draft was held this morning at the Hyatt-Regency Hotel in downtown Montreal. The Halifax Mooseheads and the Val-d’Or Foreurs were the two teams with a shot at the pick and the Foreurs officially won it.

"We’re absolutely delighted," commented Glenn J. Mullan, the Governor of the Val-d’Or Foreurs. "The entry draft is a critical element for small market franchises. It is highly significant to renew our talent base."

The 2009 QMJHL entry draft will be held on Saturday, June 6, in Moncton.
