DRUMMONDVILLE, Que. - Maxime Macenauer scored while short-handed in a three-goal second period for Shawinigan as the Cataractes stayed alive in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League championship series with a 4-1 win over the Drummondville Voltigeurs on Friday.
Drummondville leads the best-of-seven series 3-2 and will try again to eliminate the Cataractes on Sunday in Shawinigan, Que.
Voltigeurs forward Mike Hoffman opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 11:12 of the first period, before Shawinigan roared back with three of its own in the second.
Charles-Olivier Roussel, Michael Bournival and Macenauer each scored, while Philippe Paradis added one more in the third for Shawinigan.
The Voltigeurs will look for a better effort from their power play in Game 6. They were 1-for-9 on the man advantage Friday, compared to Shawinigan's power-play unit, which went 2-for-5.
Cataractes goaltender Gabriel Girard made 31 saves for the win, while at the other end Marco Cousineau stopped 23 shots.
