Sarnia signs two

Press Release

Sarnia, ON – Sarnia Sting Head Coach and General Manager Dave MacQueen announced today that the hockey club has signed forwards Craig Hottot and JC Campagna to an OHL Contract and Education Package.

Hottot a native of Sombra, was a member of the Sarnia Jr. B Legionnaires last season.

In helping lead the Legionnaires to a league championship, Hottot had an impressive rookie season and was named the Western Conference Rookie of the Year and was the Western Conference’s Leading Rookie Scorer.

“Craig will be an important piece as we move forward building the organization brick by brick. I had the opportunity to watch Craig play a lot last season and he is a skilled forward who plays with a lot of grit and tenacity,” commented MacQueen.

Campagna a native of Dublin, Ohio was a member of the Ohio Blue Jackets U16 team last season.

“Our US based scout Chris Pyzik really liked JC’s skill level heading into the draft. When he came to mini camp in May that skill level was very apparent to everyone as he stood out and made an immediate impression on the entire hockey staff,” explained MacQueen.

MacQueen added, “We are very pleased that both Craig and JC chose the OHL and the Sarnia Sting as a means to further their development both on the ice and in the classroom. “
