Press Release
VICTORIAVILLE, Monday, August 3, 2009 – The Victoriaville Tigres today announced the hiring of Simon Olivier as assistant coach.
The 37-year-old native of Quebec City had been involved in hockey for more than 20 years. A former Brandon University player, Olivier enjoyed a lengthy career in the minor professional leagues in the United States before a two-year stint in Germany. In 2008, he retired following 5 seasons in the North American Hockey League.
"His vast experience as a player and his passion for the game as well as his personality quickly made him an ideal choice for a spot on our coaching staff," said the Victoriaville Tigres’ General Manager, Jérôme Mésonéro. "He becomes the final piece of our coaching staff for the 2009-10 season."
