Allen Commits to University of Massachusetts

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced that defenseman Conor Allen has committed to play hockey at the University of Massachusetts beginning in the fall of 2010.

The 19-year-old native of Chicago, Illinois is playing in his first USHL season and has recorded two assists and a plus-six rating in 18 games for the Stampede. He was originally selected by Sioux Falls in the second round of the 2008 USHL Entry Draft.

Indiana Ice forward John Parker is also committed to attend the University of Massachusetts. The UMass Minutemen are members of Hockey East and have 12 former USHL players on the roster this season; David Boehm (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), Justin Braun (Green Bay Gamblers), Rocco Carzo (Des Moines Buccaneers), Danny Hobbs (Ohio Jr. Blue Jackets), Brian Keane (Chicago Steel), James Marcou (Waterloo Black Hawks), Michael Marcou (Waterloo Black Hawks), Eddie Olczyk (Waterloo Black Hawks), Darren Rowe (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders), T.J. Snyder (Indiana Ice), Brett Watson (Tri-City Storm), and Casey Wellman (Cedar Rapids RoughRiders).
