Toronto, ON – The Canadian Hockey League today announced that Mavric Parks of the Kitchener Rangers is the CHL Goaltender of the Week for the week ending November 29. Parks made 67 saves in two wins with a goals-against-average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .971.
Parks began his week on Friday night making 26 saves as third star of a 3-1 win over the Brampton Battalion. On Sunday he matched a season-high with 41 saves including 17 in the third period and was named second star of the 3-1 win over the Sudbury Wolves.
Parks, a 19-year-old from Eganville, ON, is playing in his third OHL season and currently leads the league with a .934 save percentage in 13 games with a record of 10-1-1-0. His goals-against-average of 2.33 has him ranked third overall amongst OHL goaltenders.
Marco Cousineau of the QMJHL’s P.E.I Rocket won two games to receive consideration for the award this week while posting a goals-against-average of 2.50 with a .934 save percentage. Previous winner Garrett Zemlak of the WHL’s Prince Albert Raiders also won two games this week with a 1.49 goals-against-average and a .951 save percentage.
