Two-goal weekend earns BCHL Player of the Week nod for Connor Jones

Press Release

Vernon Vipers forward Connor Jones has been named the British Columbia Hockey League's Player of the Week for the week ending April 4th, the league announced Monday.

Jones was named the second star in Vernon's 2010 Fred Page Cup Finals opener against Powell River on Friday night at the Wesbild Centre after scoring the winning goal at the 14:19 mark of the third period. One night later, he netted his team's only goal and was named the game's third star in a 3-1 loss that evened the series.

The 19-year old has now totalled six goals and 13 points in 14 postseason games for the defending RBC Cup Champions. He is coming off a regular season in which he set career highs with 36 goals and 45 assists.

Jones and the Vipers will look to get back on a winning track when the Fred Page Cup Finals shift to Powell River for Game 3 on Monday night.
