Bobcats & City of Lloydminster Sign Working Agreement

Press Release

The City of Lloydminster has signed a working agreement with the Lloydminster Jr. A Bobcats Hockey Club that will establish an operating framework for both parties that creates stability and certainty for at least the next five years. This is a comprehensive agreement that addresses virtually every touch point in the relationship between the City and the Bobcats Hockey Club. This agreement is aligned with what is in place in many centres that host an Alberta or Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League franchise. The Bobcats are one of the City’s most frequent users of the Civic Centre, are important to our economic region, and this agreement will assist the Bobcats to be better positioned on a competitive basis for years to come.

“As a high quality sports entertainment provider, source of community leadership, and an integral component of the Lloydminster lifestyle brand, we are delighted that in working together with the Board of Directors for the Lloydminster Junior A Bobcats, we have created a framework for joint long-term success,” said Mayor Jeff Mulligan.

“The Bobcats Junior A hockey team would like to thank Mayor Mulligan, Tom Lysak, and the City of Lloydminster for their efforts to ensure that the hockey team has a strong base agreement in which to move forward towards being an elite franchise in the Alberta Junior Hockey League”. The organization also states that, “It is also imperative that we continue to have the strong corporate support along with the support of our many fans, to ensure the long-term viability of the Franchise”.
