2010 CHL Import Draft held Tuesday

Press Release

TORONTO, Monday, June 28, 2010 – The Canadian Hockey League Import Draft begins at 9 am (ET) Tuesday. Each CHL club can select two European players.

The Prince George Cougars (WHL) own the first overall pick. The Halifax Mooseheads will select third.

Last season, the Saint John Sea Dogs selected Russian forward Stanislav Galiev first overall. Galiev registered fifteen goals and forty-five assists in sixty-seven games in 2009-10, helping the Sea Dogs capture their first Jean-Rougeau Trophy as regular season champions. He was selected in the third round (86th overall) by the Washington Capitals in last weekend’s NHL Entry Draft.
