Benoit Groulx comes back into the fold

GATINEAU, Monday, May 31, 2010 - The Gatineau Olympiques organization today announced the return of Benoit Groulx as general manager and head coach of the team.

Benoit Groulx began his career in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2000 as an assistant coach in Shawinigan. In December 2001, he was appointed head coach of the Olympics. Under his reign, the Olympics won three championships in six seasons. Groulx led the team to three appearances at the MasterCard Memorial Cup where the Olympics reached the final on two occasions in 2003 and 2004. On August 2008, he was appointed head coach of the Rochester Americans in the American Hockey League. Today, he returns as head coach of the Gatineau Olympiques.
