NAPHL announces calendar of events for 2010-11

The North American Prospects Hockey League (NAPHL) has announced its events schedule for the 2010-11 season.

The first event of the season will take place from September 16-19, 2010 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn. Held in conjunction with the eighth annual Sherbrook/North American Hockey League (NAHL) Showcase Tournament, every Midget Major, Midget Minor and Bantam Major program will participate.

The NAPHL will head to the West Coast for its second event, as all Midget Major and Midget Minor teams, along with the Western Bantam Major teams, will compete from October 21-24 at Sharks Ice in San Jose, Calif.

The next showcase will take place in Massachusetts from December 3-6, 2010 at the Foxboro Sports Center in Foxboro and Iorio Arena in Walpole. Held in conjunction with the first of two Sherbrook/NAHL Top Prospects Tournaments of the season, all Midget Major and Midget Minor teams will participate.

The NAPHL will showcase two events in January, with the first running from January 14-17, 2011 at the Troy Sports Center in Troy, Mich. All Midget Major, Midget Minor and Bantam Major programs will compete at the event.

From January 28-31, 2011, the Darien Sportsplex in Darien, Ill., will play host to all Midget Major teams, along with the Eastern Bantam Major teams.

The NAPHL Championship Tournament Series will take place at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Mich., from February 11-14, 2011. Held in conjunction with the second Sherbrook/NAHL Top Prospects Tournament of the season, all Midget Major, Midget Minor and Bantam Major teams will compete for championships in their respective levels.

The season will conclude in May of 2011 with the NAPHL Top Prospects Tournament. Held in conjunction with the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship Tournament, which will by hosted by the Topeka RoadRunners, 80 of the league’s top players will compete for a championship.
