Storm to Host 20th Anniversary Alumni Weekend June 11-13

Press Release

The Guelph Storm is proud to announce that they are hosting a 20th Anniversary Alumni Weekend June 11th-13th.

The weekend features an alumni game to be played on Saturday June 12 at 2:00 pm at the Sleeman Centre.

The two teams of Guelph Storm Alumni include 18 different players that have played or currently play in the NHL. Among the ‘highest’ profile players are Olympic Gold Medalist Drew Doughty, Olympic Silver Medalists Dustin Brown and Ryan Callahan as well as former Team Canada Olympian Todd Bertuzzi.

Players from every season of Guelph Storm hockey from 1991-2009 will be participating in the game including 9 former captains. Several coaches and assistant coaches from the Storm’s 20 year history will be attending the game and the Anniversary events as well.

Tickets for the game can be purchased through Ticketmaster or by calling/visiting the Guelph Storm Box Office at 519-837-9690. They are only $10 (including GST) with all net proceeds from the event being donated to the Guelph Wish Fund for Children.

An autograph signing will take place inside the Sleeman Centre before the game on Saturday, June 12th from approximately 11:45 – 1:00 pm for fans that have purchased a ticket to the afternoon’s game.

The Anniversary Alumni Reunion will be held the entire weekend of June 11th-13th with three principle goals. The first is to bring players together in a reunion-type setting, the second is to give Storm fans the opportunity to see their favourite players again and the third is to raise money for local charities including Guelph Wish Fund for Children.
