Wolfpack Will Compete In Out Door Game

Press Release

The 2010-11 Jr. A Wolfpack of the Atlantic Junior Hockey League will compete in a game against local Junior A rival the Springfield Pics part of the Eastern Junior Hockey League. The game will be played on an outdoor rink at Rentschler Field which is the football field for the University of Connecticut.

The outside winter hockey festival is being set up by former Hartford Whaler owner Howard Baldwin who is planning a campaign to bring NHL hockey back to the city of Hartford. What a great way to reach out to the city as the "Whalers Hockey Fest" will consist of Youth, Junior, Prep School and minor league hockey games stretched over a period of 10 days. The dates and times for the game has not been announced but it is expected to be a Sunday game.

"This is a great opportunity for our organization and for the city of Hartford. We are looking forward to participating in this great event" said Co-Presidents Dan McCarthy and Bob Crawford. The game between the two Junior teams should be a great match up and should draw a lot of local families and some families of players who are from outside the state of CT. "This is an unreal opportunity and it is going to be an exciting game to watch. I am looking forward to coaching this game it will be a first time for all of us," said Chris Cerrella Head Coach.
