Bedard Named Assistant Coach with Team Pacific

Press Release

Prince Albert, Saskatchewan – Prince Albert Raiders Assistant Coach Craig Bedard has been named as an Assistant Coach with Team Pacific for the World Under 17 Hockey
Championships December 28 – January 5 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Hockey BC made the
announcement today as Bedard replaces Kris Knoblauch, a former Raider Assistant Coach, with Team Pacific.

"Craig is a very good addition to complete our Team Pacific Coaching staff. I have worked with Craig before on several occasions, and have been impressed with his coaching techniques and professionalism. The most recent being Team BC as we attended the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse.” said Team Pacific director of operations Glen Carrier.

Bedard brings a wealth of experience to the Team Pacific coaching staff; he was the head coach for Team Pacific when they competed at the 2006 World Under 17 Hockey Challenge and the following year was head coach for Team BC that competed at the 2007 Canada Winter Games. This experience will be vital as Bedard steps into the Assistant Coach position mid-way through the Team Pacific process.

Raider forward Mike Winther is on the short list for players from Alberta while Shane Danyluk and Brent Laschuk are on the short list for players from BC for Team Pacific.

Robert Dirk is the Head Coach, Bedard and Blair Becker the Assistant Coaches and Bill Rotheisler was added as the Video Coach of Team Pacific.
