Bulls Announce Volunteer Assistant Coaches

Press Release

AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Bulls, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announced today (Tuesday) the addition of two volunteer coaches for the upcoming season.

Former Amarillo Gorillas defenseman Austin Sutter and goaltender Jamie Vandespyker will serve as volunteer coaches. Sutter, played for four seasons in Amarillo (2006-2010) where he had 152 points in 237 games.

“I am thrilled to be part of the Bulls organization,” Sutter said. “I feel they are going in the right direction. This opportunity is great way to get my foot in the door with the coaching world. I am very excited to work alongside Dennis (Williams) and Rocky (Russo) and see the game from a coach’s perspective.”

Vandespyker spent three seasons with the Gorillas (2003-2004, 2005-2007) where he posted 33 wins and a save percentage of over .900.

“It is nice to give back to the young players,” said Vandespyker. ”I am looking forward to working with the coaching staff and Austin (Sutter) this season.”

“We are extremely excited and fortunate of adding both Austin and Jamie,” said Head Coach Dennis Williams. “Their hockey experience and personality will be an instant impact for both our players and organization. Austin will be a great addition to helping out the forwards and defensemen, and Jamie will be an excellent resource with our goalies.”
