COACH STEVE JOHNSON TAKES ST. CLOUD COACHING POSITION

Press Release

FARGO, ND: Fargo Force Head Coach Steve Johnson has been named assistant coach of the Huskies of St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minnesota. He replaces Eric Rud who was named head coach/general manager of the Green Bay Gamblers (Wisconsin).
Johnson has been with the Fargo Force for this past season. He led the team to become Western Division champions. Johnson also led the Fargo Force to the Clark Cup finals where the team took second place.

Coach Johnson has a winning track record. Prior to joining the Fargo Force, Johnson was head coach of the Lincoln Stars (Nebraska) for eleven years. He was recognized as USHL Coach of the Year three times and brought home the Clark Cup Championship in 1996-97 and 2002-03.

“I have enjoyed my time with the Fargo Force immensely,” says Johnson. “It certainly put me in an ideal position to advance my career. Moving onto St. Cloud is an opportunity that I look forward to, but will very much miss the enthusiasm and stamina of the Fargo Force. I wish them the very best as they start their third season.”

At this time, no coach has been named to replace Coach Johnson. The Fargo Force has begun immediate recruitment efforts.
