Rangers and Storm Renew Blood Donor Challenge

Press Release

For the third season the Kitchener Rangers and the Guelph Storm are facing off to save lives! Today marks the start of the Rangers vs. Storm Blood Donor Challenge.

The Challenge is a friendly competition that encourages the teams’ staff, players, sponsors and fans to donate blood at their local Canadian Blood Services donor clinic. This season the two teams have pledge 1,000 units of blood and are in contention to see who can get the most new blood donors into local clinics.

Earlier today long time donor and NHL Referee Alumnus and Hockey Hall of Fame inductee Andy Van Hellemond participated in a special red puck drop with Head Coach and General Manager of the Kitchener Rangers, Steve Spott and Head Coach and General Manager of the Guelph Storm, Jason Brooks to kick off the event. Both Spott and Brooks then donated blood on behalf of the Rangers and Storm as part of the official start to the battle.

We are calling out for participants to donate blood in the name of either the Kitchener Rangers or Guelph Storm at the following locations:

The Kitchener Rangers location is as follows:
94 Bridgeport Road East, Waterloo

The Guelph Storm's location is as follows:
130 SilverCreek Parkway North, Guelph
