Press Release
Gabriel Bourret becomes the first defenseman of the season to capture first star honours. The young blue-liner led the Sea Dogs with six points - all assists - and also posted an excellent +5 rating in victories over two of the best teams in the QMJHL: The Acadie-Bathurst Titan and the Quebec Remparts. Furthermore, he was named the first star in both contests.
Jean-François Bérubé gets the nod as the second star following solid outings versus the Screaming Eagles, the Olympiques and the Voltigeurs. He pushed away 86 of 91 shots, maintaining a 1.68 goals-against-average and .945 save percentage while winning two out of three starts. His best game came on Sunday as he stopped 30 shots in a 5-1 victory over the Voltigeurs. He was named the game’s second star.
Benjamin Casavant is the third star after an amazing performance on Saturday versus the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in which he registered one goal and five helpers in a 7-3 win. Moreover, he finished the week with a +6 rating. The Cataractes have won eight of their last ten games and sit in third place in the TELUS West Division.
