LANCERS DEFENSEMAN MCLEAN COMMITS TO OHIO STATE

OMAHA, NE – The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Alex McLean has committed to Ohio State University and will join the Buckeyes in the Fall of 2011. A first-year defenseman from Duluth, Minnesota, McLean has registered two assists (both power play assists) in seven games this season with the Lancers. He currently ranks third among all Omaha defensemen with 12 shots on goal to go along with an even +/- rating.

Before joining the Lancers this season, McLean spent last year with the Wenatchee Wild of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) where he recorded four goals and 16 assists in 51 games. McLean ranked fourth among all Wild skaters a season ago with a +19 rating with 11 of his points (two goals, nine assists) coming on the power play. McLean was selected 57th overall (Round 4) by the Lancers in the 2010 USHL Entry Draft.
