The Green Bay Gamblers members of the United States Hockey League are proud to host the 3rd Annual Jim Edwards III Memorial Classic December 10-12. All games will take place at the Brown County Arena and the Resch Center. Edwards and his two sons, Jim IV and Joshua, were tragically killed in a plane crash on November 22, 2008.
Edwards was the President of the Jr. Gamblers Youth Hockey Association. His son Jim IV was a sophomore at Marshfield Columbus Catholic High School and played hockey for Mosinee Co-Op and Joshua was a member of the Jr. Gamblers Squirt team. His wife Janelle and sons Justin and Jonathan survive Edwards.
The 6-team tournament will feature the following clubs, California Stars, Milwaukee Jr. Admirals, Sabres Midget Major, Shattuck St. Mary’s, Soo Indians and Twin Bridges Lightning.
The entire tournament is open and free to the general public. Fans will need to enter through the North End of the Resch Center and Brown County (off of Lombardi).
Games will be played at the Resch Center on Friday at 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, 4:00 PM & 9:30 PM. On Saturday games will be played at Brown County at 9:00 AM, 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM and the Resch Center at 9:00 AM & 4:00 PM. Sunday’s games are set for 9:00 AM at both facilities, 11:00 AM at the Resch Center and the championship game is at 2:00 PM.
