Palat, Girard and Huberdeau capture TELUS three stars of the week

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, December 13, 2010 – Forwards Ondrej Palat and Jonathan Huberdeau as well as goaltender Gabriel Girard today were named the TELUS three stars of the week for the period extending from December 6 to 12.

Ondrej Palat is the first star after registering three goals and five assists in three games. The winger played his best game on Friday, collecting four points in an 8-3 victory over the Huskies. Moreover, Palat notched the game-winner in a 5-4 shootout win over the Tigres on Saturday. Finally, he earned a star in each of the three games.

Gabriel Girard gets the nod as the week’s second star. The Shawinigan Cataractes backstop recorded two wins while posting a 1.50 goals-against-average and .960 save percentage. He was brilliant against the Juniors in Montreal last Friday, pushing away 42 of 44 shots en route to a 3-2 win. Girard was named the game’s first star.

Jonathan Huberdeau is the third star. In four games, the young Sea Dogs forward scored four goals and added four helpers while posting a +1 rating. He enjoyed his best game on Sunday, collecting four points in a 5-3 victory over the Mooseheads. Saint John remains in first place in the overall standings with 56 points.
