ROCKETS INK HUSKA TO NEW THREE YEAR DEAL

Press Release

The Kelowna Rockets are proud to announce that they have re-signed head coach Ryan Huska to a three year contract extension.

The contract will keep Huska behind the Rockets bench through the 2013-14 Western Hockey League season.

“Ryan has had great success and we’re thrilled that he wants to stay here and continue to develop as a coach,” said Rockets president and general manager Bruce Hamilton.

Huska is currently in his fourth year as the Rockets head coach. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach with the Rockets in 2002-03 and has steadily been climbing the coaching ranks ever since.

“I’m thrilled about it,” said Huska. “I’m very honoured that the Hamilton family thinks enough of me to offer me another three year contract.I’m very excited and honoured.”

This year Huska is an assistant coach with Team Canada’s World Junior hockey team and was the head coach of Team WHL during the recently completed Subway Super Series.

“We’re happy to have this done and out of the way before the World Junior tournament,” said Hamilton.
