VEY NAMED HUSKY WHL PLAYER OF THE MONTH

CALGARY, AB. – The Western Hockey League announced today that forward Linden Vey, of the Medicine Hat Tigers, has been named the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for November.

The 19 year-old forward from Wakaw, SK led all WHL scorers collected 29 points through the month of November finding the net 13 times and accumulating 16 assists to go along with a remarkable +20 rating. Vey went on a seven game goal scoring streak during November netting 10 goals during that span and 21 points. Some highlights include Vey scoring his third career hat-trick against the Swift Current Broncos and his second five point effort of the season in a victory over the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Vey’s consistent play led the Medicine Hat Tigers to a 10-2-1-0 record through the month of November, including an eight game win streak. The Tigers now find themselves third in the WHL Central Division with a 17-8-1-0 record for 35 points, within striking distance of the first place Kootenay Ice. Vey’s efforts have also earned him a Three Star selection seven times, with five being 1st Stars.

Vey is playing his fourth season with the Tigers who made him their 2nd round (42th overall) selection at the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft and was selected in the 4th round (96th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He currently leads all WHL scorers with 48 points (18 goals, 30 assists) in 26 games played. This past month also saw Vey play for Team WHL at the Subway Super Series collecting one goal and one assist, while also being named to Team Canada's World Junior Selection Camp.

His accomplishments make Linden Vey a deserving choice as the HUSKY WHL Player of the Month for November.
