Press Release
BELLEVILLE, ON - Bulls Head Coach and General Manager George Burnett announced Wednesday afternoon that the team has dealt right-winger Richard Panik and Owen Sound's 2nd round pick in 2012 to the Guelph Storm. In exchange, Belleville receives 17 year-old left-winger Carter Sandlak along with Barrie's 2nd round pick in 2011.
"Carter is a big, physical winger who will compete at a high level and we need that right now," said Burnett following the deal. "He's a guy we've really liked in our experiences in Under 17 and Under 18 hockey. He's anxious to break out and we look forward to giving him every opportunity here."
Panik goes to Guelph after recording 31 points in 27 games with the Bulls. "Richard carried a load for us here. He's a good kid who is going to do well. With the minutes he leaves behind, we'll expect others to jump up and contribute," added Burnett.
Sandlak is a former first round selection of the Storm in 2009 and is the son of former long-time Vancouver Canucks forward Jim Sandlak.
The 6'2", 190Ib. Sandlak is expected to suit up for the Bulls tomorrow night when they visit the Peterborough Petes.
