Press Release

Kingston, MA- The Bay State Breakers announce that goaltender Blake Dougherty has committed to play college hockey at Bentley University, a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association, for the fall of 2011.

The 20-year old from East Amherst, New York currently has a 92.4 save percentage in the EJHL.

“I am extremely excited and honored to be attending Bentley University in the fall. I look forward to attending school at a top tier University, while playing for a great Division I hockey program. I feel that Bentley is a great fit academically and athletically. I am eager to continue to improve and have a strong rest of the season,” stated Blake Dougherty.

“Blake came to the Breakers having already played in the league and that experience has been invaluable for us. We are currently 3rd overall in goals against which has given us a chance to win every game. Blake has been a big part of our success this season,” stated Head Coach David McCauley.

“Playing for the Bay State Breakers this year has been great. Coach McCauley has provided me with the tools and the direction needed to be successful. They have allowed me to grow and mature on and off the ice, and I will always be grateful for the opportunity they have given me. I look forward to the many challenges ahead,” added Dougherty.
