Kantor, Sullivan become newest Hounds

The Soo Greyhounds completed two more deals on Monday, heading into the OHL trade deadline.

In the first transaction the Hounds acquired right-winger MICHAEL KANTOR from the Saginaw Spirit along with a 2nd Round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection, a 4th Round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and a 6th Round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection in exchange for third-year defenseman BRANDON ARCHIBALD.

Kantor, a Lake Forest IL native, is currently in his 2nd season with the Spirit after being signed as a free agent in January 2010. In 35 games played he has 8 goals and 5 assists to go along with 85 penalty minutes.
The 6.0, 198 forward was a participant in the Columbus Blue Jackets Rookie camp prior to the 2010/11 campaign.

While in the team’s third transaction of the day, the Hound acquired overage defenseman BRENT SULLIVAN from the Windsor Spitfires along with a 2nd Round Pick in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection, a 3rd Round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection, a 4th Round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and a 10th round pick in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection in exchange for overage forward JAKE CARRICK.

Sullivan, a Carp ON native, is in the midst of his 4th Ontario Hockey League season.

With today’s transactions the Greyhounds roster unofficially sits at 24 players; 2 goalies, 8 defenseman and 14 forwards.

David Broll, Michael Kantor, Brent Sullivan and the Hounds will continue their current homestand this coming weekend when they play host to the Saginaw Spirit this coming Friday, January 14th. Game time is 7:35 p.m. at the Essar Centre and tickets are still available.
