The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League today unveiled the TELUS three stars of the month for December.
The first star is awarded to a Gatineau Olympiques. This time around, the honour goes to center Jean-Gabriel Pageau after he recorded ten goals and twelve assists for a total of twenty-two points in eleven games. He also managed to maintain a +10 rating while averaging two points per game. Pageau also registered two game-winners in the last four weeks and has collected at least one point in fourteen consecutive contests. Finally, he was named the Olympiques' Mid-season offensive player.
The second star goes to the Saint John Sea Dogs backstop Jacob DeSerres. The goaltender had an excellent month with a record of six wins and only one loss. He finished the month with a 1.55 goals-against-average and .929 save percentage by stopping 188 of the 198 shots he faced. His only loss occurred in a game in which he did not start. DeSerres finished the year on a very good note, adding a shutout to his record in a game against the Moncton Wildcats.
The third star is none other than defenseman Andrew Randazzo. In ten games, the Drummondville Voltigeurs defenseman registered three goals and six assists for a total of nine points in ten games. He also managed to maintain a +7 rating. He played a big part in the Voltigeurs’ success by scoring a wining goal: December 28th in a game against the Quebec Remparts that ended in overtime.
