BARTHELMESS TO SACRED HEART

Press Release

Springfield, MA- The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that assistant captain Chad Barthelmess has committed to Sacred Heart University for this fall. Chad is currently second on the Pics in scoring with 21 goals 21 assists 42 points in 35 EJHL contests. The 6’ 190lb winger is a native of Norristown, PA.

“I am very excited and am looking forward to playing for the Sacred Heart Pioneers. I would like to thank Coach Tabb, Coach Daniels, and Coach Smith for their guidance and support through it all. I also want to thank my family for supporting me since the beginning and giving me the opportunity to play for the Pics which enabled me to receive a college scholarship,” commented Barthelmess.

“We are very happy for Chad and his family on this accomplishment; he has worked extremely hard on and off the ice the past two years to get to this point. Chad is a player that has been with us from the start when we took over the program last season, he has evolved into a leader, and one of a handful of guys that helped us set the foundation for our program. He competes every shift, and every practice, making the players around him better. Chad is a powerful skater with a heavy shot that will make him an impact player at the college level,” states GM/Coach Patrick Tabb.

Barthelmess is the fifth Division One-committed player on the 2010-11 Pics.
