BOMBERS NAME SJHL AWARD NOMINEES

Press Release

The Flin Flon Bombers hockey club and the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League have announced the three players that will represent the team in year-end awards at the end of the season. The announcement of what players have been nominated by the team was made today as the SJHL’s President Tour presented by Source Embroidery-Yorkton made a stop in Flin Flon The President’s Tour is a chance to promote the upcoming SJHL playoffs and to show off the Credit Union Cup and the SJHL Sask-Tel Showcase of Awards.

FLIN FLON BOMBERS YEAR END AWARD NOMINEES

Most Outstanding Player – P.J Musico

It can’t be easy for a goaltender from California to make northern Manitoba his home for a winter, but P-J Musico did that and succeeded. The 20 year old quickly made a name for himself and goes into the week as the league leader in both minutes and saves.

Most Outstanding Defenceman – Tanner Korchinski

The 1990 product from Flin Flon has made the most of his final season in Junior “A”hockey with his hometown team. Korchinski has not had many bad shifts this season and many opposition forwards will tell you that its not easy going down his wing and having a lot of success. Many of those forwards that are back next year will be happy that they aren’t dealing with Korchinski next year.

Top Rookie – Dillon McCombie

The 1994 born forward from Flin Flon has been a pleasant surprise for the Bombers right from training camp. You don’t see many 16 year olds in the SJHL, but McCombie has shown that he deserves to be here with the way he has played each and every night. If he stays in the league, he should be one of the league’s best players in future years.
