Broncos Announce “Rider Night” February 12th

Press Release

The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club, in partnership with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, announced today that they will be hosting the first ever “Rider Night” presented by The Brick. “Rider Night” will be held on Saturday, February 12th when the Broncos host the Kootenay Ice.

In recognition of the night, the Broncos will wear limited edition “Rider” inspired jerseys along with matching green socks. The Broncos will be auctioning off all the game worn jerseys with proceeds going to both the Swift Current Minor Hockey Association and Swift Current Minor Football. The jersey auction will begin Saturday, February 5th. Fans can place their bids online at www.scbroncos.com, over the phone at (306) 773-1509 or during both the Feb. 5th and Feb.12th games.

Roughrider Slotback Chris Getzlaf, Defensive End Brent Hawkins and Defensive Tackle Marcus “Chunky” Adams will be in attendance and will sign autographs up until the end of the first intermission. Fans will also have a chance to buy tickets for a limited edition autographed Roughrider jersey which will be raffled off at the end of the game. There will be tons of giveaways at “Rider Night” including mini Roughrider footballs, water bottles and much more.

All fans wearing green to “Rider Night” will be entered into a draw to win a “Relax and Lounge Leather Massage Recliner” courtesy of The Brick. Inflatable Roughrider chairs will also be awarded as second and third prizes. Fans can also receive ballots for the draw at either The Stable or in the February 3rd edition of the Southwest Booster and can drop them off at The Brick prior to game day.

“This night will be a great opportunity for Rider fans to come out to the Credit Union i-Plex and showcase their Rider pride while cheering on our hometown Broncos.” says Derek McKie, Broncos’ Marketing/Game Day Coordinator. “We encourage all fans to wear green in support of both the Riders and Broncos that evening.”

“Rider Night” will also mark the first time former Broncos’ Captain Cody Eakin returns to the Credit Union i-Plex since being traded to the Kootenay Ice in early January. In 212 regular season games played with the Broncos, Eakin recorded 195 points through 100 goals and 95 assists.

The Swift Current Broncos Hockey Club and the Saskatchewan Roughriders encourage Bronco and Rider fans alike to come out to the game and support sport in southwest Saskatchewan!
