Jets' Jacobson named Goaltender of the Month

Press Release

The North American Hockey League (NAHL) has announced that Janesville Jets goaltender David Jacobson has been named the SBK Hockey Goaltender of the Month for January.

Jacobson, a 20-year-old from Janesville, fashioned a 6-1 record, including three shutouts, in seven appearances during the month to compliment a 1.26 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage.

“David had a great month,” said Jets head coach Dane Litke. “He continues to play well and gives us a solid effort every time he’s on the ice. He’s exceeded our expectations and continues to perform at a high level.”

In 33 appearances this season, Jacobson, who last year played for the Quad City Jr. Flames of the North American 3 Hockey League, leads all NAHL goaltenders in wins (23) and goals-against average (1.91). He also holds a .924 save percentage.

“It’s an honor to be recognized with an award like this, given how many outstanding goaltenders there are in the NAHL,” said Jacobson. “But the credit really goes to my teammates in front of me; they’ve played great and certainly make my job a lot easier.”

HONORABLE MENTION: Owatonna’s Charles Williams; Topeka’s Eric Rohrkemper; Wenatchee’s Brandon Jaeger
