Stampede Captain Chooses Bowling Green

The Sioux Falls Stampede announced that defenseman Marcus Perrier has committed to continue his hockey career at Bowling Green State University next season.

Perrier, 19, is playing in his third USHL season and has collected a career high 11 points (5g, 6a) in 37 games this season. The team captain has scored three of his goals over the past four games. Twice this season he has scored the overtime winner. The 6-1, 225-pound defenseman is also fourth in the USHL with 132 penalty minutes, three short of matching his career high. The native of Thunder Bay, Ontario has contributed 27 points (10g, 17a) in 140 career games for the Stampede and is the organization's all-time leader in penalty minutes with 395.

Three other players will play collegiately at Bowling Green State University following their USHL careers; Dajon Mingo (Des Moines Buccaneers), Connor Kucera (Des Moines Buccaneers), and Ryan Carpenter (Sioux City Musketeers).

The Bowling Green State University Falcons are a member of the CCHA and have 15 USHL alumni on the roster this season; Mike Fink (Des Moines Buccaneers/Waterloo Black Hawks), Max Grover (Sioux Falls Stampede), Andrew Krelove (Des Moines Buccaneers), Brett Mohler (Tri-City Storm), Mike Montrose (Tri-City Storm/Waterloo Black Hawks), Nathan Pageau (Sioux City Musketeers), Ryan Peltoma (Tri-City Storm), Marc Rodriguez (Sioux Falls Stampede), Ian Ruel (Omaha Lancers/Indiana Ice), Jordan Samuels-Thomas (Waterloo Black Hawks), Robert Shea (Green Bay Gamblers), Jake Sloat (Omaha Lancers), David Solway (Sioux Falls Stampede), Brennan Vargas (Tri-City Storm), and Camden Wojtala (Omaha Lancers).
