WHEAT KINGS CALL UP KUCZEK

Press Release

Brandon, MB. -- The Western Hockey League's Brandon Wheat Kings have announced that 16-year old defenceman Dylan Kuczek has been recalled from the Winnipeg AAA Midget Thrashers.

A former second round draft choice (40th overall) of the Wheat Kings in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft, Kuczek becomes one of six rookies on Brandon's blueline.

In 30 games with the Thrashers this season, the 6'205 lb Winnipeg product has ten goals, 18 points and 69 penalty minutes. As a member of the AAA Midget Sharks in 2009-10, Kuczek scored 34 points including twelve goals in 33 games.

Kuczek is expected to practice with the Wheat Kings on Thursday and could be in the lineup on Friday night when Brandon plays host to the visiting Regina Pats.

Kuczek joins fellow rookies Eric Roy (16), Ryan Pulock (16), Spencer Galbraith (17), Rene Hunter (17) and Jordan Fransoo (17). Earlier today, Pulock was named the Wheat Kings' Tip Top Player of the Month for January.
