Saco, ME- Brad Church has been named the 2010-11 Atlantic Junior Hockey League Coach of the Year for his successful overhaul of the Junior A & B team. Coach Church led the Junior A’s to a 23-19-2 record and the Junior B’s to a 24-12-1 finish.
In addition to the success of the AJHL team, Coach Church revamped the Metropolitan Junior Hockey League team, which ended the season up with a second place finish in the Francis Division.
The season ended with success and Coach Church looks to continue the steady improvement of the organization and the players who come to reach their goals of playing collegiate hockey. Coach Church has continued to forecast and recruit for the upcoming season and is confident of the talent that will be part of the 2011-12 team.
Coach Church also acknowledged that this is an individual award, but recognized the importance of both assistant coaches, Kent Hulst and Jeff Libby. Hulst and Libby were also in their first full season on the Pirates Coaching Staff and brought plenty of key experience behind the bench.
