SUNRISE, Fla. – Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to an entry level contract with free agent RW Jonathan Hazen.
“We are very pleased to have signed Jonathan,” said Tallon. “He is a young player who possesses speed, skill and the ability to score goals. Our scouting staff has closely followed Jonathan’s progression and development, since targeting him as a free agent that we wanted to acquire. We look forward to his contributions to our organization.”
Hazen, 20, paces the Val d’Or Foreurs (QMJHL) with 39 goals and 41 assists in 61 games played. He ranks 11th overall among the QMJHL’s scoring leaders with 80 points. The Val-Belair, Quebec native has spent the last four seasons in Val d’Or registering 224 points (104-120-224) in 241 games played.
