STRUEMPFLER TO CLARKSON

Springfield, MA– The Springfield Pics are proud to announce that defensemen Kevin Struempfler has committed to Clarkson University for this fall. The 6’0, 190 pound native of Lincoln Univ, PA finished seventh among EJHL defensemen in scoring with 6 goals and 23 assists (29 points), appearing in all 45 league games.

“I am very excited and am looking forward to playing for the Clarkson Golden Knights. I would like to thank Coach Tabb, Coach Daniels, and Coach Smith for their guidance and support through it all. I also wanted to thank Jared Beach of Endeavor Sports Performance for his help and guidance throughout the college recruiting process,” stated Struempfler.

“Last but not least I want to thank my family for their support and for giving me the opportunity to play junior ice hockey, which helped me to reach my goal of playing division 1 college ice hockey," he added.

Struempfler is the sixth Division One committed player on the 2010-11 Springfield Pics and the second defensemen on the club attending Clarkson this fall, joining teammate J.D. Carrabino.

“We are so happy for Kevin and his family on this accomplishment. He showed up to training camp prepared and never looked back, he came to our program with a goal of playing Division One college hockey and that is what he accomplished. Kevin is a very reliable defenseman who takes pride in his work everyday, never gets beat one on one, posses a great first pass and was a big part of our defensive group this season,” commented GM/Coach Patrick Tabb.
