Hlinka Named to Slovakian U18 Team

Prince Albert SK- The Slovak Ice Hockey Federation announced yesterday that Prince Albert Raiders 17 year old centre, Michal Hlinka, has been named to the Slovakian U18 Team and he will compete in the IIHF World Under 18 Championship in Crimmitschau Germany.

Hlinka was acquired from the Moose Jaw Warriors along with two draft picks at the January 10th trade deadline this season in exchange for 19 year old Sebastian Svendsen. Hlinka, a native of Trencin Slovakia, appeared in 23 games for the Raiders notching one goal, three assists and 11 penalty minutes. He finished his rookie year in the WHL appearing in 45 games between the two clubs scoring a total of five goals and five assists to go along with 21 penalty minutes.

Slovakia is in Group A and they open tournament against Russia on Thursday April 14th at 9:30AM ET.
