Jr. Trappers hosting one-day Northern Prospects Camp

Press Release

The North Bay Junior ‘A’ Trappers will be conducting a one-day Northern Prospects Camp on Thursday, April 14th at Pete Palangio arena. The camp is for local players and players from around the area to get introduced to the North Bay Junior ‘A’ Program. The Trappers will have a Rookie Prospects Camp in mid July before main camp which takes the ice in late August.

The Junior ‘A’ Trappers are hoping to continue to build the program and add more quality local players to the program next season. President/GM Chris Dawson hopes the camp will be a chance the organization to get a closer look at some of their affiliate players from last season.

“We had more than 15 affiliate players last season but only about 7 of those actually got to play a junior game last season,” said Dawson noting a number of midget AAA Trappers and other Great North Midget League players have already signed up to attend.

“This will be a chance for some of those players and others from North Bay and around the North to show us what they have to offer.”

Trappers Vice President Dean Pauli is excited about the one day camp and hopes all of these players will want to come back to the Jr. Trappers July Rookie Camp.

“We have a lot of good young hockey players here in North Bay that should have a very good chance to crack our lineup this year, giving the North Bay Trappers more local players than ever before," said Pauli.

Players will take to the ice for two on-ice sessions at Pete Palangio arena at the following times:
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
