Moose to hire new Coaching staff

Press Release

Halifax Mooseheads Majority Owner Bobby Smith announced this afternoon there will be a new head coach of the Halifax Mooseheads starting next season. Cam Russell will return as General Manager of the Hockey Club after signing a contract extension.

“We’re actively pursuing candidates for the head coach position to lead our talented core of young players” stated Smith. “Cam has done a great job rebuilding this team through the draft and his job will be to continue that strategy moving forward.”

Assistants Chris Donnelly and Jason Troini will not be re-signed as the new head coach will have the latitude to bring in, or hire his own Assistants. Eric Raymond will remain on as the team's goaltender coach.

‘I’d also like to thank Chris Donnelly and Jason Troini for their tremendous dedication to our Organization over the years” stated Smith.

The Mooseheads will enter their 18th season in September of 2011. They again hold a handful of draft picks, including 4 picks in the top 40 selections, at the 2011 QMJHL Entry Draft this June in Victoriaville, Quebec.
