DeSalvo Makes Division I Plans

Press Release

The Des Moines Buccaneers are proud to announce that forward Dan DeSalvo has committed to play at Bowling Green University beginning with the 2011-2012 season. DeSalvo becomes the 14th member of last season's Buccaneers' team to commit to a Division I program and the third to specifically head to Bowling Green.

"Dan got a late offer and he felt it was a good opportunity for him" said Buccaneers' head coach Regg Simon. "We wish him the best of luck"

Playing in his first Junior A hockey season, the Rolling Meadows, Ill native led the Buccaneers with 42 points and finished tied for the lead in assists with 28. DeSalvo was originally slated to play in the North American Hockey League until being invited to the Bucs' training camp in September by Simon and assistant coach Marty Quarters.

Bowling Green has become a popular place for Buccaneers to go in the last three seasons. Along with DeSalvo, the school has also recruited Connor Kucera, Dajon Mingo, Mike Fink and Andrew Krelove

The Falcons are members of the Central Collegiate Hockey Association and are led by Chris Bergeron who will be entering his second season. They went 10-27-4 last season.
