Hershey Canada Reveals Chocolate Replica of Memorial Cup

Press Release

Hockey fans from across the country are coming together to support their favourite teams as they battle for the coveted Memorial Cup trophy. This year Hershey Canada is giving a whole new meaning to ‘sweet victory’ by unveiling a Memorial Cup replica made entirely of HERSHEY’S® chocolate, on display for public viewing from May 20-29 at the Hershey Centre.

“Hockey has always been a great way for families to spend time together and we are thrilled to be a part of it at the Hershey Centre!” said Brett Donald, Marketing Director for Hershey Canada. “The partnership will add an element of fun and excitement for the fans and families that come out to watch their favourite teams battle it out on the ice for a chance at the ultimate prize in Canadian Major Junior hockey.”

Here is what to expect from the Hershey partnership at this year’s MasterCard Memorial Cup:

The replica of the Memorial Cup was sculpted by Jim Victor using 60 pounds of HERSHEY’S® chocolate.
The Memorial Cup replica took approximately 400 hours to complete due to the intricate nature of the design
It will be on display for the duration of the playoffs in the ‘Hall of Heroes’ for Fan Fest and will first be revealed to media at a press conference on Thursday, May 19 at the Hershey Centre
Hockey fans will be able to have their photo taken with the HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Memorial Cup in front of the Hershey photo wall at Fan Fest from May 20-29

“We are excited to have Hershey Canada as a key partner at this year’s MasterCard Memorial Cup and look forward to the added fun factor they will bring to the event!” said Rick Radovski, Event Manager for the 2011 MasterCard Memorial Cup. “The HERSHEY’S® Chocolate Memorial Cup at Fan Fest is sure to be a ‘must-see’ for fans and families alike.”
