Lancers Forward Commits to Providence College

Press Release

The Omaha Lancers announced that forward Stefan Demopoulos has committed to attend school and play hockey at Providence College beginning this fall.

Demopoulos recently completed his second USHL season with the Lancers where he was third in team scoring with 40 points (16g, 24a). He led the team in assists (24) and tied for the lead with three shorthanded goals. The 20-year-old from La Mesa, California was the only Lancers player to compete in all 60 regular season games. He closed out the season riding a five-game point streak (2g, 4a), including the game-winning goal in the 2-0 victory vs. Sioux Falls on the final day of the season.

After being chosen by Omaha 86th overall in the 2009 USHL Entry Draft, Demopoulos put up 16 points (9g, 7a) in 44 games during his rookie season in the League.

Providence College is a member of Hockey East and had two USHL alumni on the roster this season – Mark Adams (Chicago Steel) and Aaron Jamnick (Tri-City Storm). Team USA defenseman Barrett Kaib is also committed to the school following his USHL career.
